Overview
Teach English to Immigrants and Refugees - Rockwood Library (age 18+) Referral
Torus bridges gaps between people and communities by facilitating transformative experiences of language and culture exchange.
We offer free drop-in English classes for adult learners of English at sites across the Portland metro area. Our classes are high energy and multi-level. We often have students from five or six different language backgrounds in a given class. As a teacher, our classes are challenging, rewarding, and a lot of fun.
You don’t need any background as an ESOL teacher to join our team. Torus offers comprehensive training for aspiring teachers. But we also need volunteers to help our classes run smoothly.
Join us to:
- Learn how to teach ESOL
- Improve your teaching skills
- Develop intercultural skills
- Make new connections in your community
This class meets Mondays from 2 to 3:30 pm at the Rockwood branch of the Multnomah County Library, from January 27 to March 31, 2025. You can volunteer for any class during this term.
The first step is to visit a class to learn firsthand what we’re all about. Contact us to get connected today!
