Overview
We are seeking a skilled Video Conferencing Engineer to deploy modern VC equipment in hundreds of rooms across our service territory. The ideal candidate has experience with design, engineering, coordinating with installers and troubleshooting systems. This resource will be the primary point of technical support, responsible for user education and support – including collaborating with individuals at all levels of the organization. The role requires a candidate based in the greater Columbus, OH area, who can work in a hybrid situation, with approximately 50% in-office time for installations and troubleshooting. Local travel within the Columbus, OH area is expected as part of this role. Occasional after-hours work may be required for installations that extend beyond regular business hours, but this is not expected to be a frequent occurrence. Key Responsibilities:
Perform infrastructure project assignments, including planning, research, evaluation, and design of infrastructure solutions. Provide high-level technical support and analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities. Adhere to client approval processes as part of change management, incident management, and trouble response scenarios. Prepare cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations. Develop technical documentation, including procedures, manuals, and reports. Review and adhere to budgeting and approval processes while assisting with annual and project planning. May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team. Requirements:
4+ years of video conferencing software engineering experience with modern tools. Proficiency in MS Teams and Zoom. Physical hardware experience with modern video conference room equipment. Familiarity with network and security protocols and configurations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. 7+ years of relevant work experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
