The Role
Thornton Tomasetti is looking to add our newest team member to our CORE team as a Senior Digital Design Technologist. In this unique position, you will be a key part of the team that implements key design and documentation tools to support project teams across Thornton Tomasetti. You will be joining a small team that crosses corporate boundaries to build an environment where project teams have quick and timely access to standard and custom tools. While the position focuses on Autodesk Revit, you will have the opportunity to develop skills in various other digital design platforms and develop your data analysis skills while compiling and presenting data to understand corporate performance.
Responsibilities
- Work with CORE design leadership to help maintain and implement leading-edge BIM strategy by determining what tools we use today and what will we be using in 5 years.
- Serves as the key Subject Matter Expert for Autodesk product related issues in Revit and Autocad.
- Assists with solving complex technology issues pertaining to BIM and level 2 IT with support for BIM tools.
- Helps with Technical implementation by working on custom software settings to support practice and project standards.
- Tests and assists IT with the deployment of BIM software and updates.
- Assists BIM and Digital Design leadership in development and maintenance of quality control, modeling standards and relevant training in each practice area.
- Participates in monthly internal user group meetings to disseminate knowledge of best practices and to help bridge communication gaps between global projects teams.
- Experience in creating structural design documentation using Revit or similar tool.
- Expert knowledge in Autodesk Revit including standards development, modeling complex geometry, and creating parametric families.
- Expert in technical communication practices including document layout and document design.
- Advanced knowledge in Revit required.
- BIM 360 and ACC, Bluebeam, Navisworks, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Dynamo is a plus.
- Coding with C#, Python, or other languages is a plus.
The rate for this position generally is $90,000 - $100,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the California Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful California applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in California or perform the position from California. Similar positions located outside of California will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by California Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
