What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Produce visual impact assessments (VIA) under the direction of the Visual Resources Practice Lead
- Coordinate contributions from a diverse technical team, including GIS and simulations specialists
- Conduct project site visits, requiring travel of up to 20% annually
- Support planning and permitting for power generation and transmission projects
- Engage in technical writing for assessments in support of permit applications
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 3 to 5 years of experience producing or supporting the completion of VIAs
- Strong writing, research, analysis, and reporting abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects while focusing on details
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Experience in power generation, electrical transmission, or utilities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with VIAs required by the National Environmental Policy Act and state environmental reviews
- Familiarity with federal agencies' assessment methods for visual effects
- Experience with DSLR cameras, Autodesk 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Knowledge of shadow flicker analyses for wind energy projects
