Job Opportunity: Interior Designer
Location: Poughkeepsie, NY
Salary: $50,000–$70,000 (commensurate with experience)
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Express Employment Professionals in Poughkeepsie, NY is seeking a talented and experienced Interior Designer to join a local well-established firm. This role is ideal for a highly creative and organized professional who is confident managing interior projects from concept through completion and collaborating closely with architects and consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage interior design projects through all phases—from schematic design through construction administration
Design, source, and present selections for interior finishes, furniture, lighting, flooring, hardware, and fixtures
Prepare and produce construction documents supporting design concepts
Collaborate with the principal designer and team members to maintain design integrity and intent
Coordinate with architects and outside consultants to ensure cohesion across all project phases
Occasionally travel for on-site visits and fieldwork (same-day travel)
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design (required)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, and WordPerfect
Strong organizational and time-management skills with creative problem-solving ability
Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
Proven ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
