The City of Middletown’s Community and Economic Development Department is delighted to offer internship opportunities for current or recent collegiate students, at the undergraduate or graduate level, who are interested in a career in business, marketing, public administration, economic development, planning, or similar fields.
It will offer students the opportunity to gain experience working in city government administration, economic development, marketing, and communications. This paid, in-person internship will expose students to a variety of functions that will be vital in pursuing a career in a variety of industries. This is a solid opportunity to gain knowledge and real-world experience in community and economic development, marketing, and communications, and will be responsible for: Economic Development research Data management Online Marketing Small project management Regulatory compliance Filing and organization and other department related activities Qualifications :
Students must be pursuing a degree in business, marketing, communications, public administration, planning & zoning or similar public or private sector programs. Previous experience or understanding of public sector careers is preferred. We will be employing two interns at any given time throughout the year. This internship opportunity will be an in-person position. We will be flexible with your schedule, but require you to be in the office during the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday for a minimum of 16 hours/week. Students should have a basic understanding or skillsets in the following areas: Research Microsoft Office Social Media Graphic Design Customer Service or Interpersonal Communication Public Speaking Submissions & Deadline:
