- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of designers, researchers, strategists, and engineers to create cohesive user experiences.
- Expand, refine, and extend existing design systems into new components and interfaces.
- Interpret business requirements and user needs to design innovative, actionable solutions aligned with technical architectures.
- Deliver high-fidelity designs and prototypes, adhering to best practices in file setup, layer structure, and naming conventions.
- Balance tactical execution with an understanding of broader strategic project goals.
Key responsibilities
- Produce designs with a high degree of fit and finish, ensuring clarity and consistency across touchpoints.
- Translate design system patterns into scalable components for new and existing user experiences.
- Effectively convey design decisions, providing rationale and clear documentation for stakeholders and development teams.
- Engage in iterative design, incorporating feedback from stakeholders, to continuously elevate design quality and usability.
Required skills and experience
- Expertise in design tools (Figma, especially), particularly with regards to effectively utilizing variables, parametric layouts, component systems and maintaining well-organized design files that are developer-ready.
- Ability to manage and self-report on progress, including defining and tracking punch lists for tasks.
- Strong sense-making and problem-definition skills when approaching complex challenges or fragmented requirements.
- Proficiency in extending and refining design systems within both tactical and strategic contexts.
- Strong storytelling ability to communicate design work concisely and compellingly to stakeholders.
- Comfort working dynamically in environments with evolving requirements and adaptive processes.
- A keen eye for quality across business and user contexts, ensuring designs reflect brand and functional goals.
- Ability to consider the interplay between user, business, and technical needs when making design decisions.
- Enthusiasm for collaboration across multiple roles and disciplines, focusing on shared outcomes.
- A sense of humor and adaptability to thrive in fast-paced, iterative design environments.
