Want to (actually) change the world?
Hi, I’m Alex, co-founder and CEO at Village. Bradford and I started Village with a simple but important goal: to make work matter.
Today, that vision is turning into reality. Village is a hypergrowth AI startup, backed by top-tier VCs, and we’re building something truly transformative: Organizational Memory (OM1).
Unlike anything else in the market, OM1 creates a ‘brain’ for companies: an AI system with deep contextual memory that understands what’s happening across a business and then does all different kinds of work inside its connected apps. It’s not just another productivity tool. It’s a fundamental shift in how work gets done, and where people spend their valuable time.
We’ve early, but have already landed household-name enterprise customers, achieved rapid YoY ARR growth, and secured strong funding. Now, we need someone to lead our marketing to help us define this new category and make sure the world understands why OM1 isn’t just a better way to work—it’s the future of work.
Why Village?
- The work that will define your career: this is literally an opportunity to change how the world works. We're going to totally transform how 1 billion people spend their time.
- Ownership above all else: every single person at Village brings an extreme level of ownership in everything they do. This is intensely motivating and will buoy you in everything you do.
- Exceptional team: you'll work alongside some of the best. We've been on the growth journey at Uber and other high calibre startups.
- Strong early traction in an explosive category: we're growing fast in an extremely fast growing category.
- Technical moat: OM1 allows us to do things that no-one else can do. It's an incredibly strong foundation to build a world-changing business.
The Challenge & The Opportunity
This is not a traditional marketing job. The biggest challenge (and opportunity) is that Village doesn’t fit neatly into an existing category. We’re not a sales tool, a knowledge base, or a chatbot—we’re all of those things and much more.
Your job is to build the story that makes Village click for our customers. To define our category, educate the market, and show why Organizational Memory will be an essential layer inside every enterprise.
This is a company-defining role. You’ll have full ownership of our go-to-market strategy, brand narrative, and demand generation engine. You'll report directly to the founder and CEO. You’ll be part of a world-class team and get to shape how we grow from a fast-moving startup into an iconic, category-defining company.
What Makes This Role a Great Fit
- Deep domain experience scaling B2B SaaS marketing, with expertise in PLG, ABM, and technical product launches. You bring 8+ years experience across different marketing roles.
- You can translate complex AI technology into compelling business narratives that resonate with technical (CTO) and business (CEO/COO) buyers.
- You know how to define and refine competitive positioning/differentiation against incumbents like Glean, Guru, and Sana and AI leaders like OpenAI, Gemini, and Anthropic.
- You’re metrics-driven, with a track record of 3x+ pipeline growth and efficient CAC scaling.
- You thrive in 0 → 1 environments, and you are comfortable both executing and scaling, including hiring 2–3 key FTEs in Year 1.
- You have leadership in your DNA: you've built and managed growing teams, but thrive with constraints.
- Your are fiercely competitive with yourself. You're always looking to lift yourself and others up and have an indefatigable owner's mentality.
What Might Make This Role a Challenge
- You prefer large teams and external agency support—this role requires direct execution in the early stages.
- You haven’t been hands-on with martech tools like Clay, HubSpot, UserGems, and Looker in a while and prefer a more strategic-only role.
- You’re uncomfortable with defining messaging in an ambiguous market—this category is still being shaped.
- You cannot reference several creative campaigns you are proud of (and campaigns where you failed and learned).
- You don't want to be challenged or work hard.
Compensation & Benefits
- OTE: $200k–$300k
- Base Salary: 180k-260k
- Equity: Extremely generous equity in an early-stage company
- Performance bonus: for hitting company quarterly revenue targets
- Benefits: Healthcare coverage, 401(k), PTO
