As a Senior Automation & QA Specialist, you will be entrusted with the critical role of ensuring the quality and reliability of software through rigorous testing methodologies. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing comprehensive test strategies and plans, as well as crafting automated test scripts and the necessary support documentation. You will leverage your expertise in industry-standard software testing methodologies, particularly those suited to agile environments, to lead a small testing team effectively. Your role will be pivotal in interfacing with the entire software development team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination through tools such as Jira and Confluence.
In this role, you will also be expected to have a deep understanding of the Defect Life Cycle, adeptly logging and presenting defects as they arise. Your proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, GitHub, and experience with AWS and AWS Device Farm will support your testing efforts. Testing for the visually impaired or print-disabled are also key aspects of the job, requiring a specialized skill set. Working within an Agile framework, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process, ensuring that all applications meet the highest standards of accessibility and usability. Your experience and skills will not only ensure the delivery of exceptional software solutions but also uphold the commitment to creating inclusive and accessible technology for all users.
Responsibilities: Develop test strategies and test plans
Serve as an expert in designing, implementing and maintaining software test automation test frameworks / solutions, especially for Mobile applications (iOS and Android)
Represent a small testing team in an agile-based software development effort with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attend multiple weekly meetings with the client and other stakeholders, becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the applications that you lead
Test web-based database driven applications
Test RESTful or SOAP based API interfaces
Test Microsoft windows-based applications
Test iOS, Android, and Kindle mobile applications
Conduct Accessibility Testing on mobile devices using VoiceOver, TalkBack, and VoiceView and on web-based applications using JAWS
Log and present defects in the Defect Life Cycle
Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
Certifications / Licensures: Relevant certifications preferred such as, ISTQB, QA, AWS, PMP, OCAJP / OCPJP, MS, ITIL or CCBA
Relevant Work Experience: 12+ years of experience in software development, testing and test automation. MUST HAVE mobile automation experience (iOS and Android)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Proficiency in Mobile Testing for Android, iOS, and FireOS
Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, GitHub, GitLab, Jira
Experience with API Testing using Postman
Experience with AWS and AWS Device Farm
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audience
Work in an Agile framework
Must be flexible and dependable, a true team player as client priorities shift
Strong leadership and mentorship skills
