Role Overview:The Public Relations and Social Media Specialist coordinates marketing, advertising, public relations, and research projects, supporting both paid and unpaid initiatives. This role ensures the seamless tracking and management of campaigns and programs to align with organizational goals. Key responsibilities include compiling daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports, maintaining continuity across projects, and collaborating with internal departments to support marketing efforts that advance the organization's objectives. Additionally, this position fosters and maintains relationships with news and press contacts to enhance public relations efforts.
This position also develops, tracks, and implements eCommerce marketing strategies to drive market share growth and increase product and brand awareness. The Specialist promotes the organization through outbound electronic communications and educates current and potential members on services, including online and mobile banking, mobile deposits, various loan products, and the organization's brand identity, mission, and vision. By creating innovative campaigns and managing social media platforms, this role drives engagement, ensures consistent messaging, and contributes to company events and cross-departmental projects to support broader marketing initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:Assists in public relations promotions, branch openings, event sponsorships, special programs, community involvement and support.Ensures all communications are performed in a timely and effective manner and delivery and handling of inbound and outbound correspondence is accomplished efficiently.Create and deliver integrated marketing programs and strategies to increase usage of electronic products and services. Helps implement an annual Marketing Plan and oversee communication and implementation. Analyze results, assess performance, and recommend refinements to improve performance for future eCommerce promotions.Creates and distributes educational and promotional publications i.e. print ads, brochures, posters (static and multimedia), letters, and newsletters to include graphic design, layout, and text requirements. Projects a positive and consistent image of the company in all materials.Cultivates relationships with key personnel at existing Local Business Partners (LBP) and press publications to maintain Canopy's position as a benefit to the company employees, members, and community.Functions as Administrator for the company's social media portals. Assists with search engine optimization initiatives. Writes content for and respond to members' feedback and questions.Administers email marketing program. Posts online ads for identified websites. Responds to customer emails and other communications, such as Meta.Write press releases, media announcements, speeches, scripts and other PR copy.Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage media and PR channels (marketing R&D) to tell Canopy's story.Develops and updates content of the company's external website.Assists with the member quarterly and employee monthly newsletters.Other duties as assigned.About Canopy Credit Union:Canopy Credit Union is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). Experience6 months to 2 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience
Education/Certifications/LicensesBachelor's Degree in Communications, Business or Journalism, or related degree of specialty.
Interpersonal SkillsA significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with members, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
Compensation details:
26-31 Hourly Wage
