We are seeking a Global Director of Marketing & Client Development for our Litigation Department, based in either New York City, Washington DC, or Philadelphia. This pivotal role will be responsible for steering the marketing and business development strategy, client retention, branding, and growth for the Litigation practice group. The successful candidate will also play a significant role in firm-wide integrated client service initiatives.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Collaborate with the Chairs of Litigation, Practice Group Leaders, and the Chief Marketing Officer to establish marketing and business development priorities for the Global Litigation practice.Lead the development, execution, and evaluation of the firm's marketing and business development strategies and programs for the Global Litigation practice.Partner with the Chief Marketing Officer to drive firm-wide cross-practice and cross-border initiatives, and to establish business development best practices and tools.Work with all Litigation practice groups to formulate marketing and business development plans and implement programs to effectively build brand awareness and penetrate markets.Provide coaching and guidance to lawyers on branding and business development strategies.Participate in business development initiatives including responses to RFPs, market research, client presentations, and cross-selling opportunities.Oversee the creation of marketing collateral materials, digital marketing tactics, advertising, and special events to elevate the profile of the Global Litigation practice.Recommend and execute activities related to the firm's sponsorship for Litigation.Develop a comprehensive marketing and business development budget for each Litigation practice group and monitor expenditures against the budget.Represent the firm at the highest level to clients, peer organizations, and business associates.Manage a team of marketing and business development professionals supporting Global Litigation.Direct and assist with the preparation of legal directory and other key award submissions to raise the profile of the litigation practice groups.Perform any other duties as necessary and as assigned by your supervisor for the efficient functioning of the Department, Office, and Firm.QUALIFICATIONS / KSAs:

Bachelor's degree.10+ years of experience in strategic marketing and business development within a professional services firm.Legal industry experience required. Familiarity with litigation, is highly desirable.Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and direct the work of others.Exceptional project management, interpersonal and team building skills are required.Excellent communication skills (oral and written) along with the ability to build consensus and motivate others.Proven experience in managing and executing marketing strategies, including digital marketing and event planning.Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.Experience in client relationship management and retention strategies.Strong analytical skills to evaluate marketing campaigns and market trends.Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.

Additional Job Description

At the time of this posting, the salary range for this position in New York is $260,000.00 to $330,000.00 annually. Actual compensation is commensurate with job related knowledge, skills, experience and location of the position.
