Associate Designer

Client is looking for an experienced Associate Designer for our Sportswear division. The Associate will be responsible for execution and follow up of the design process and workflow to ensure high level execution. They will work with the internal and external partners to ensure development and presentation is completed on time with the supervision from the Design Director.
Essential functions include but not limited to: • Responsible for technical package process from creating design sketches, detailed artwork, specs, pitch sheets, and fabric/yarn information. • Maintain and update sample/trim approvals for each customer account. Manage check-in process of seasonal development. • The Associate Designer must have an eye for detail and ability to interpret market research for customer appropriate product. • Request, track, and update sample charts and tech packs. • Collaborate with sales team to include updated best sellers into the assortment and creating presentation decks accordingly. • Shop local market with Design Director to better understand customer product, retail trends, and market direction. • Participate in meetings with customers and assist Design Director and Sales team in presentations. • Continue to develop and increase understanding of the customer base.
Qualifications: • 3- 5 years of related experience required • Bachelors in Fashion Design • Must have experience in sweaters and cut & sew. Woven knowledge a plus! • Knowledge of garment construction and technical specs • Independent, self-motivated, and detail oriented with a strong follow through • Must be highly organized with clear verbal and written skills • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced office environment • Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and Excel
