Description of Job Duties
The Department of Sociology, Criminology, & Anthropology (SCA) is looking for a creative Student Social/Digital Media Specialist to design and provide multimedia content for the Department's social media channels, website, and other digital communication. This individual will occasionally work in the campus SCA building, but has the option of performing many duties remotely. Job duties include:• Managing the Department's social media channels• Supporting the online presence of the Department• Designing digital and print promotional materials• Creating monthly newsletter• Finding and sharing SCA-related updates and resources on social media• Assisting with recruitment events- Other duties as assigned
Do the job duties for this position include any driving requirements?No
Job Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with students, staff, faculty, and community members• Excellent writing and editing skills• Ability to handle a number of tasks concurrently, at times without direct supervision• Technical proficiency with social media platforms• Strong verbal communication skills• Willingness to take direction and feedback• Personal interest in the Department's disciplines and initiatives
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS• Sociology, Criminology, or Anthropology major/minor
Federal Work Study eligible
Will this position be working with minors?No
Approximate number of work hours per week2-5 (including event hours on specific evenings and weekends)
