Reporting to the Director of Marketing & PR, the Marketing Manager spearheads NESN’s brand/content marketing strategies, executes on-and-off network marketing plans, oversees agencies and media planning as appropriate, and supports broader growth marketing initiatives. The Marketing Manager leads the coordination and implementation of marketing plans, programs and campaigns; ensures consistency of brand representation across multiple channels; establishes brand voice and tactics; builds relationships with NESN personalities and outside influencers; and collaborates with internal and external partners on various company initiatives. Opportunity for this role to be Senior Manager level depending on years of experience.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Establish and implement on- and off-network marketing initiatives per the marketing department’s annual operating plan and for special projects that promote programming initiatives, network tune-in, branded products, and other company initiatives with approval of the Director of Marketing & PRIdeate, concept out, pitch, and execute on marketing campaigns that advance company objectivesTrack performance of campaigns, target attainment, and conduct recapsConcept and lead event marketing efforts as needed as part of broader marketing plansServe as NESN’s main point-of-contact with external media partners, recommend tactics to Director of Marketing & PR including new media tactics and trends based on industry researchLead for all of NESN’s brand representation and promotional messaging across all mediums and ensure consistency of promotional messaging in all mediumsSchedule, write and distribute promotional copy for on-network live reads, NESN marketing newsletters, push notification and off-network promotionLead project management efforts in partnership with UI/UX and Creative Services on asset creation and deliveryCreate and execute social media marketing strategies across all NESN brand handles that promote programming initiatives, network tune-in, branded products, and other company initiativesManage, negotiate and keep current all off-network web, print, outdoor, radio and TV spot ad placementsTrack off-network ad placements, create proof of performance reports and present learnings/recommendations for various campaignsManage asset delivery for digital marketing platforms such as Facebook Ad Manager, Google Ads, etc. including creating schedule, copywriting, overseeing asset development and reporting on learningsDevelop and optimize processes across Sales, Programming & Production, Digital and Creative Services to drive efficiency for asset delivery for Red Sox and Bruins season marketing and sales activationsCommunicate strategy and guidance to NESN Traffic relative to their executing NESN promotional spots on daily traffic logsManage NESN’s promotional inventory with several business partners and coordinate asset productionTrack paid marketing expenditures, provide timely reports to Director of Marketing & PRAssist the Sales and Affiliate Relations departments in planning, scheduling and executing client events and promotionsOversee Red Sox and Bruins and campaigns and activations on NESN’s channelsDevelop and execute influencer branding strategies and platforms and serve as NESN’s main point of contact for all NESN influencer campaigns and strategyCoordinate requests and appearances of NESN talent in relation to influencer and sponsored campaigns at client eventsManage network premium merchandise inventory and related activitiesSuccessfully completes other related assignments and tasks as neededQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience (Manager level), or 7+ (Sr. Manager level), designing, implementing and executing marketing programs, promotions and targeted campaignsExperience working for a sports team, media organization or related entity on the professional ,or college level, a bonusDetail oriented with excellent organizational skillsSolid interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent writing skills with ability to develop compelling, results-oriented copyExperience working in athlete relations, player/influencer marketing in a talent agency, professional sports organization or creative agency setting a plusExperience working with talent, while maintain the highest level of confidentialitySocial media strategy, CRM, and/or performance marketing experience a plusStrong ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment across various departmentsA demonstrated ability work under limited supervision in a high-pressure and loosely structured environmentAdvanced skills with MS Office (particularly with Excel) with a high aptitude for learning new software applicationsAbility to attend events on weekends and evenings, on an as needed basisExperience with Wide Orbit a plusFlexibility to travelMust embrace the NESN Core Values: People, Customer Focus, Adaptability, Teamwork, Diversity, Integrity, Accountability, Passion and Social Responsibility.Who We AreNESN (New England Sports Network) is owned by Fenway Sports Group, which also owns the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Penguins among other holdings, and Delaware North, owners of the Boston Bruins.
