The Associate Art Director will lead and oversee the preplanning, design and execution of all seasonal line books and sales training materials. This individual will work closely with supporting the Senior Art Director in planning and executing seasonal photo shoots. This role with help inspire and motivate the designers on the creative print team. They will work collaboratively with the team to produce quality graphics ranging from branding collateral, national advertisements, to Large Retail Store (LSR) look books and printed and digital booklets. This position will think creatively to provide suggestions and will produce high quality work. Whether working independently, or on a team, the Associate Art Director will work well prioritizing multiple projects while meeting competitive deadlines. This individual will need to be highly organized and detail oriented. This is a key role that allows the creative team to scale, not only the quantity but the quality of creative assets.

This is an in-house position that may require some travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Design primarily print based content for all Peter Millar departmentsOversee, support and design seasonal Line Books and corresponding assets.Building our shot lists for photo shoots.Manage a team of designers.Support in reviewing color proofs and retouching rounds.Work closely with the Senior Art Director in concepting and pre-planning key campaigns that will build the brand values. This includes still and moving imagery.Present design work to senior management. Shape design decisions in response to feedback.Research creative trends in competitive markets and apply that knowledge and learning to development of new marketing and projects.Produce visual solutions that meet channel and collection specific needs (Direct To Consumer, digital, wholesale, Large Retail Store, collegiate)Will ensure all projects are executed with proper time management.Archiving and management of completed projects.Put processes in place to improve workflow of the team and projects.Collaborate closely with creative director, designers, project managers and copyrighters.QUALIFICATIONS:

Fundamental understanding of design and branding best practicesMust be detail orientated.A strong understanding of fashion, luxury branding, design, and typography.Experience in retouching and photo editing.5+ years of experience in the creative field.3+ years of experience on set (on-figure, soft goods and/or video)Strong conceptual abilities with a high attention to detail.Works well under pressure and deadline.Ability to act and operate independently.Proficiency in Mac software programs, including Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, Keynote and PowerPoint.Understand foundational design concepts (i.e. spatial relations & typography) and be an out of the box thinker to create new experiences within our design aesthetic.DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, advertising, photography, visual arts, or digital mediaHave advanced to expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat), and Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.3+ years' experience in graphic design.3+ years' experience on set is a plus.5+ years in the creative field.
