SEO SPECIALIST | JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

At Magnolia, the SEO Specialist is responsible for optimizing our online presence to drive organic traffic and enhance the visibility of our retail offerings. With a focus on search engine optimization strategies, the SEO Specialist will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure our products are easily discoverable and positioned prominently in search engine results. This position reports to the Ecommerce Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Uphold Magnolia's manifesto and valuesConduct thorough keyword research to identify high impact terms relevant to our products and contentAnalyze keyword trends and competitors to develop and refine SEO strategiesOptimize product pages and content for search engines, including meta tags, headers and URL structureCollaborate with content creators to ensure product descriptions and imagery align with search engine best practicesConduct technical SEO audits to identify and address website issues affecting search engine performanceWork closely with IT and development teams to implement technical SEO recommendationsDevelop and execute effective link building strategies to enhance the authority and credibility on the websiteEstablish partnerships and collaboration to build high quality backlinksPartner on content strategy with aligned with SEO goals, including blog posts, articles, and multimedia contentEnsure content is optimized for search engines and engages our target audienceUtilize SEO tools and analytics platforms to monitor and report on key performance indicatorsProvide regular insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve SEO performanceKeep up to date with industry trends, algorithm updates, and emerging SEO techniquesImplement best practices and innovative strategies to stay ahead of the competitionPartner with marketing, content, and merchandising teams to ensure SEO strategies align with broader business goalsCommunicate SEO insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical partnersPerform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Hard skills: Proficiency in SEO tools such as GA and BrightEdge; strong understanding of SEO algorithms and ranking factorsSoft skills: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; creative problem-solver with ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy; strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to efficiently meet deadlines; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on a high level; ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environmentEducation: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field from a 4-year college or university preferredExperience: 1-3+ years as an SEO specialist with focus on retail or ecommerce preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience requiredPHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
