What We’re Looking ForWC+A is looking for a full-time Creative Director, A/V & Motion Graphics, to join our growing team. This Director will have a proven and expertise knowledge in motion design and audio-visual content, with extensive experience working with clients of various industries, and have gained clients who in turn you’ve delivered premium, high-impact campaigns for every level and platform. You will also be experienced, nimble, and versatile across all creative verticals, working in lockstep with our VP of Strategy and other creative leadership to continuously move our business forward.

You will help drive revenue growth for the company, and will consistently raise the bar for creative development across your team. You have a passion for working with clients, which shows in your proven ability to build and scale teams for growing client workstreams; in partnership with our Accounts team, you’ll drive business forward. You will execute your own ideas, and will motivate and guide creatives in the company in executing top-level, killer work.

This person will be a power user of the Adobe Creative Suite and will champion blowing out campaigns, adapting video to different formats, and organizing assets for flawless delivery. The ideal candidate will be able to balance pushing the creative forward and managing the clients requests and expectations seamlessly, while also taking the time to communicate efficiently and mentor team members.

This role will report directly to the CEO.

How You’ll ContributeDirect the development and execution of all work done by the Motion and A/V team and other creative verticals, from conception to delivery (including creative editorial, sound design, motion design, and color grading)Lead and mentor the Motion and A/V team, strengthening and supporting an already strong and robust group excited about the work aheadLive and breathe the mission statement and team vision put forth by team membersKickoff, guide, and strengthen integrated creative output across all projects alongside our VP, StrategyEncourage fresh, innovative ideation, pushing boundaries in our creative storytellingBe able to translate the language of art direction to various stakeholdersDrive creative and lead teams that design and generate client assets, ensuring they are strategically sound, brand-appropriate, and aligned with the client’s overall creative approach and strategyQuickly grasp brand guidelines and identity of clients, and lead teams that maintain style guides, art assets, and graphics standards (and related documentation)Identify opportunities for building or improving on client relationshipsIdentify efficiencies within our current processesEvaluate the look and feel of assets used in client campaigns and properties and provide feedback when requestedMeet with company leadership to facilitate growth, account efficiencies, and opportunitiesMeet with clients (in person or remotely)Proactively problem-solve with the team and have impeccable follow-throughMotivate team members to stay apprised of current design trends and video and motion graphics technology, and share your own insights with all members of the companyEvaluate and formulate programs to improve and upskill our creative talentOther duties as assigned

Who You Are

10+ years of experience in motion, video production, and graphic design, preferably with 5+ years in an integrated design agency settingRelevant agency experience in concepting/ideation, art direction, and on-the-box motion designMasterful proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: After Effects, Premiere, Illustrator, Photoshop, and othersExperience in Cinema 4D and sound designGreat written and verbal communication skills are vital to interact with internal partners such as project, account and creative teamsAbility to interact and engage with clients when requiredAbility to explain, sell (and occasionally defend) your ideas while remaining open to feedback and constructive criticism is essentialBeing agile in management toolsCreativity, adaptability, and marketing knowledge are requiredExtremely comfortable with all Google Workspace programs (Gmail, Drive, Meet, etc.)Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skillsIs detail-oriented, has good follow-through, can multitask, and works well under tight deadlinesMultilingualism is a plusAbility to be mentored and growth mindsetAptitude with managing different projects in parallelAbility to approach a problem from multiple viewpointsAbility to work through problems with a team that values collaboration and feedbackAbility to think beyond the task at hand and identify blockers and improvements

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s certifications, location, prior experience, and qualifications.We benchmarked this position against the Creative Director role, which closely resembles the level and responsibilities of this role for the Los Angeles area in 2024.WC+A is an equal opportunity employer.
