Job Description:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or relevant field of study required

MBA preferred, but not required

Work Experiences:

Minimum of 15+ years of experience in large retail environment, consumer package goods, or advertising agency that serves Fortune 500 companies

7+ years of management experience with strong people development background

Experience working in retail environment

Experience with local/community/grassroots marketing and advertising

Event activation experience with brands or agencies

Experience in B2C, B2B, and B2G (government) communications and sales cycles preferred

Skills:

Ability to manage individuals and teams (both in-office and remotely) utilizing influence over direct authority to inspire high level performance

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels, both internal and external, including vendors, investors, directors and executive officers

Analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills

Provide superior customer service, demonstrating sound logic and judgment

Self-motivated, with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Ability to effectively react and resolve conflict

Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Power Point

Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills

Effective communicator with strong, professional written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects all the while balancing strategic and tactical issue

Responsibilities:

Oversee the day to day operations and develop and execute strategic direction of travel, events, engagement, public relations, and internal communications departments

Coach and support Store Directors with community marketing and PR efforts to ensure achievement of transactions and sales

Maintain current knowledge on state and federal laws that pertain to promotions and events

Develop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures and safety rules

Duties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned

Develops the global strategy and execution of internal and external communication

Drives the communications strategy to manage our corporate reputation and identity

Primary liaison for all media and public relations agencies

Implements new communication procedures for the entire company

Partners with internal departments to develop effective and professional communications and public relations strategies

Internal Corporate Communications: Branding – Establishes and manages the core communications standards

Executive Support – Partners with Senior Executives to develop and communicate key company initiatives. Internal Crisis Communication – Provides communication expertise and support in the area of internal crisis situations. (Development of key messages and FAQs)

External Crisis Communication - Serves as the primary resource to Senior Leadership in the development and delivery of crisis communication

Physical Requirements & Attendance:

Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties

Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior
