Position Description

JOB SUMMARY :

The Sportsbook Ticket Writer provides excellent customer service to all guests while creating a fun and welcoming experience within the Sportsbook area. The Sportsbook Ticket Writer must process Sports Betting transactions quickly, accurately and in compliance with all regulatory and payment policies. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :Acknowledge, greet and converse with customers who have in interest in Sports BettingMonitor controls designed to assure full compliance with state, federal and tribal regulatory requirements.Maintains betting counters and operational areas; ensures a clean and professional image; ensures betting supplies, racks and materials are maintained and up-to-datePrepare and stock all the daily sports sheetsExplain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds and procedures to guests as neededProvides the services for the Sportsbook by assisting guests, collecting tickets and payments, processing tickets and paying winners.Entering sports betting ticket information into computer terminals.Process all cash transactions by accepting money and making necessary change accurately.Read numbers on Sports Betting tickets and verify for accuracy and pay winning tickets.Handles money with accuracy, accepts bets, makes change, pays winners and balances cash bank.Ensure that organizational and regulatory policies and procedures are understood and adhered to.Ensure that the departments present a professional and clean environment for both employees and guests.Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.Attend all necessary meetings.Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.Position Requirements

Education/Experience:

Must be 18 years of age or older upon employmentHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Previous money-handling experience is required; at least 6 months in a gaming environment preferredPrevious customer service experience preferredGeneral knowledge of sports teams and games preferredLanguage Skills and Reasoning Ability:

Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customersAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusionsMust have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employeesMust have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful mannerPhysical Requirements and Work Environment:
