Our health services are designed to help everyone live healthier lives.This role sits within Optum Serve's Technology Product Management and Planning organization. The organization manages activities for a specific product or group of products, from product definition and planning through production, release and end-of-life. It is responsible for managing the full product lifecycle with a technical focus, including the strategy, design, development, and end-of-life of new, existing or acquired products.The UX Architect is responsible for leading the User Experience and Product Design team, driving innovative and cohesive end-to-end experiences and cross-channel consistency. This role will establish and maintain close relationships with other leaders and decision makers across product management, engineering, operations and business teams, with a demonstrated ability to influence across multiple levels of leadership. The UX Architect oversees team members engaged across multiple product-oriented teams.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:Owns the standardization of tools, templates and processes used across the design teamMakes hiring and assignment decisions in support of Optum Serve business objectives and design team strategyMentors product designers and identifies areas for personal and professional growthChampions human-centered design and research, and identifies opportunities to further establish the UX discipline at Optum ServeDefines digital design standards that can be applied to experiences across Optum Serve digital products and is accountable for the team's adherence to standardsLeads in establishing and executing accessibility practices in collaboration with engineeringEstablishes research strategies that inform product roadmap and lead to better solution decisionsIncorporates monitoring and analytics throughout the solutions design process to support outcome-based experiences that are measured for impactUnderstand complex requirements and technologies and translate / suggest opportunities in the context of experienceExamines work processes within the product design team and introduces efficiencies and best practicesBuilds solid understanding of all Optum Serve programs and platforms, and how they operate together in our technology ecosystemTranslates and make tangible for the design team the strategic vision of the company and senior leadershipStrong desire to solve complex problems through technologyProvide guidance and feedback across all stages of the design process (research, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, etc.)Makes recommendations on design team tools and champions their incorporation into the operations of the teamWillingness to constructively challenge current thinking across the enterprise, pushing boundaries and driving change that will deliver exceptional user-centric experiences

You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:8+ years of experience in digital design3+ years of experience in a design leader roleExperience in web accessibilityExperience delivering in an agile environment and working with multiple teams in parallelExperience translating qualitative and quantitative research into product design decisionsExperience in whiteboarding apps and prototyping toolsDeep understanding of human-centered design principles, methodology and best practicesSelf-motivated with excellent communication skillsProfessional history of interacting with and garnering support from senior leaders across the businessUnited States Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:Product design experience in the healthcare industryExperience in direct leadership / supervisory role of design team membersExperience building, maintaining, and/or contributing to a standardized design system library

The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
