And we’re looking for bright, like-minded humans to join the party.We are seeking an experienced **UX Writing Lead** to establish the user experience (UX) writing practice at Starship and build a superstar team. This person needs to be a versatile player-coach who can think strategically about information architecture across systems, write informed UX copy for headers, labels, buttons, and modals, as well as manage and guide UX writers in sharpening their craft. You must be comfortable navigating a startup culture where we value iteration over perfection and make progress without having all the answers.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.**Primary Responsibilities:**+ Leads and inspires writers to create their best work, without micromanaging+ Connects with cross-functional teams to investigate issues and solves problems efficiently+ Thinks holistically about the end-to-end user experience, conducting audits as needed, to develop a cohesive content strategy and information architecture+ Collaborates with research to understand user motivations and habits, and incorporates findings into copy+ Develops a relationship with the Marketing Copy Lead, meeting regularly to align and ensure consistency across the product experience+ Crafts clear, compelling UX copy that helps users navigate the product experience and achieve their goals; this includes task cards, modals, headers, labels, naming, and nomenclature+ Executes on the brand voice so that it’s consistent everywhere, yet relevant for each channel type+ Becomes immersed in product education to develop and maintain a product knowledge base+ Works with designers to create detailed mockups and user flows in Figma+ Reduces obstacles for their direct reports by addressing friction points in process, strategy, or interpersonal issues that affect their ability to do their best workYou’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.**Required Qualifications:**+ 5+ years of UX writing experience in a fast-paced industry+ 3+ years of experience using quantitative and qualitative user research to inform UX copy+ 3+ years of experience building strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders+ 3+ years of experience collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and engineers+ 2+ case studies of leading a UX writing project from strategy to execution+ 1+ case study of creating a style guide to establish consistent UX writing across an organization+ 1+ year of experience working within or for a large organization**Preferred Qualifications:**+ Experience working in FinTech or healthcare industries+ Experience working with a string manager or content management system (CMS)+ Experience managing direct reports+ Growth mindset and comfort working in ambiguity+ Positive energy and a desire to create team culture in a remote-first world*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.**California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only:** The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
