POSITION SUMMARY :

The Assistant Marketing Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing in managing the daily responsibilities of the Marketing Department. The primary responsibility will be to oversee and directly produce design concepts, copy layouts and designs for both print and web media including file preparation, animation and archiving as well as coordinating the printing and mailing of all marketing and advertising materials such as flyers and ads. The Assistant Marketing Manager works closely with the Director of Marketing to ensure design and messaging objectives are met and reflect the brand. The position is also responsible for overseeing all aspects of the website content and online events as well as assisting with trade show preparations.

REGULAR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uses computer graphic systems to produce various print and web graphics for e-flyers, website banners, E-Shows, flyers, calendars, promotional forms and other print material and oversees the work of the design team in these productions.

Ensures projects are completed and disseminated to the appropriate parties in a timely manner following the proofing process.

Evaluates project needs and communicates the status of projects to ensure deadlines are met.

Reviews projects for accuracy and to ensure the design and copy work well together and communicates the intended message. Ensures content for RSR’s product descriptions, rebates, consumer promotions, and e-flyer/flyer headers are accurately conveyed.

Works with the Director of Marketing and other departments to develop communication material.

Oversees the e-flyer process and the analytic performance for e-mail marketing releases and campaigns.

Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type as well as color scheme, and creates sample layouts representative of RSR Group’s branding image and industry communication standards. Prepares layout prints based on client/supervisor specifications and presents samples for selection and approval.

Prepares final layout for review and coordinates approved final layout for production.

Coordinates quotes, printing and mailing with approved vendors.

Assists with the continual development of new content, design, and functions for the RSR Group website as well as other promotional websites maintained by RSR. Produces designs to support and promote virtual events.

Oversees marketing preparation for E-Events and coordinates efforts with other departments as necessary.

Attends SHOT Show and assists with the SHOT Show logistics and booth set-up and dismantle. Prepares special graphics for promotions and advertising as well as materials to support sales efforts. Coordinates product displays.

Oversees the image library. Obtains images and coordinates photo shoots of products in inventory, prepares files for various media forms and archives images using established naming standards, and assists with image uploads as needed.

Supervises staff in accordance with RSR’s policies and applicable laws. This includes planning, assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; rewarding, counseling and terminating employees when warranted.

Evaluates, communicates and documents employee’s performance. Conducts timely annual employee performance reviews.

Assists Human Resources to recruit and hire new employees. Develops training programs for new employees.

Performs other projects as assigned by the Director of Marketing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Assistant Marketing Manager must have a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field and must be willing to stay current on design and industry trends. The Assistant Marketing Manager relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Knowledge of both PC and Macintosh platforms is necessary. Proficiency in PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat, HTML, FTP (FileZilla), Dreamweaver, MailChimp, Microsoft Word , and Excel is required. The Assistant Marketing Manager must be able to manage multiple priorities and have strong leadership, organization and analytical skills.

Physical Demands:

This position requires occasionally lifting up to 15 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires individual to regularly sit, talk and hear and also requires the use of hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. This position is located in an office environment. Travel annually to the SHOT Show trade show is required.
