Roadway Design Project Manager
The Benesch Florida Division is seeking to add Roadway Design PE Project Managers to our growing Transportation Design practice. This is an experienced position involving exciting, challenging, and complex assignments with outstanding growth opportunities. This is a position with minimum supervision and guidance. The ideal candidate will lead the technical aspects of roadway design projects, including the ability to successfully manage budgets and schedules. The candidate must be a Seller/Doer and maintain good industry connections and relationships. Strong project and people management skills are required. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated to grow.Location
This position can work out of any of our Florida offices, which include locations in Jacksonville, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, or Tampa, on a hybrid work plan.The Impact You Will HavePerform complex and highly advanced analysis and design, assuming responsibility for the analysisCheck and sign off on design calculations and plan elements while ensuring completenessPerform QA tasks on projects as assignedOversee layout and/or review drawings for a projectReview and approve project design criteria for the project components and assume responsibility for assigned design calculations and plansAssemble and write competent draft report sectionsMonitor and compare cost estimates to client expectations and identify anomalies and propose corrective action to the Project Manager or client as appropriateCommunicate progress and issues to Project Manager in a timely and ongoing mannerIdentify and propose resolution to issues identifiedTrain/mentor others as necessary to complete required tasksContinue involvement in professional organizations, seeking leadership rolesSeek out opportunities to publish papers and develop presentationsWhat You Will NeedBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or higherPE required with 8-14 years of experienceFDOT roadway design experience preferredProficient at using MicroStation and OpenRoadsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate with others in a team environment relating to a variety of tasksHighly advanced understanding and knowledge of applicable codes and standards (including commentary) #LI-MF1
