Position Summary:

Under the leadership of the President & CEO, the Marketing & Communications Director is an active member of the CRHS management team that works to implement the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of the enterprise. The Director is responsible for the overall operations of Marketing and Community Relations. The Director works very closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Administrative Team members, and Department Directors to implement strategic and tactical marketing and communications related goals and objectives.

The Director provides leadership and guidance to subordinate departments and employees. The Director functions at a variety of levels and provides analysis and management decision-making as well as direct hands-on work. This position also serves on internal committees within the organization dealing with the marketing and community-oriented outreach programs focusing on health, wellness and specific healthcare services. The Director provides reporting and analysis concerning program volumes, marketing impact, and CRHS market share. Responsible for promoting the mission and work of Crisp Regional Hospital, in trade publications, and in state/regional media channels through creative and impactful writing and media relations. Primary responsibilities include developing ideas, writing and producing content for a variety of channels including PR, TV, print, marketing, collateral, web and social media. Other duties include research and interviews, pitching and escorting media, coordinating with physicians and subject-matter experts, and supporting other business initiatives. Assist with crisis communications. This position works to ensure promotions and organizational presence are consistent throughout CRH and hospital objectives.

Basic Qualifications:Education:Associates degree in business, marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:Minimum 3-5 years direct marketing experience, preferably in healthcare, with reasonable leadership experience. Strong analytical skills that demonstrate the ability to identify and act on insights that drive business results. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT) and applications (Web analytics, Google AdWords etc.), Strong written, verbal and organizational skills.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Can-do attitude with strong attention to detail and deadlines. Dependability, professionalism and flexibility. Able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines. Creative and also critical thinking skills. Passion for the mission and the work at Crisp Regional Hospital.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Leads and manages subordinate departments and functional areas related to Marketing and Community Relations. Converts CRHS's marketing and community relations vision and goals into actionable plans and directions.Works with the Administrative Team to develop, update and implement the Marketing and Community Relations strategic and annual plans.Establishes both short and long-term goals for the department and prepares corresponding strategic and annual financial plans and ensures budget variances are within acceptable limits.Provides overall direction, management, development and evaluations for the Marketing, Volunteer, and Community Relations.Performs administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, rounding, etc.Attends department head meetings, etc as scheduled.Provides leadership in the delivery of quality Marketing, Community Relations services, and programs.Ensures that departmental quality, satisfaction and regulatory compliance standards are consistently either met or exceeded.Works to continually improve the quality and timeliness of Marketing and Community Relations provided through the department and its contractors.Manage monthly operating financials for Marketing and Community Relations and works with the CFO or other members of finance to develop proactive remedial actions when necessary.Prepares, implements and manages all enterprise-wide Marketing and Community Relations policies and procedures and ensure their compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.Research and interview sources for news stories, patient stories, and news releasesWrite, edit and proofread content to assure it is clear, concise and accurate for digital and print channels such as newsletters, email, website, social media, and marketingWork in collaboration with manager on crisis communicationsShow success measurement through regular reporting of media placementsCollaborate with communications colleagues to develop content ideas and plans that support various platforms, business goals and marketing needs for key service linesSupport, maintain and grow relationships with regional, trade, state and other media outlets.Organize and write/edit referring physician collateralWrite and/or edit and proofread publications and online content such as sponsored blog postsHelp promote, plan, execute and cover public relations-led special events, as needed, and participate in other events.Collaborate with marketing and other professionals to coordinate brand awareness and marketing effortsPlan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, e-mail, TV etc.)As sist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategiesUndertake individual tasks of a marketing plan as assigned.Maintains and updates CRHS's marketing and community outreach plans and ensures these plans comply with CRHS polices and all related JCAHO requirements.Works closely with the President & CEO and the Administrative Team to recommend and maintain an organizational structure and staffing levels that accomplish CRHS's operational goals and objectives.Provides department staff the opportunities to participate in staff development and regularly schedules in-service programs. Provides new employees with an orientation specific to the department, explaining the department's mission and goals and the importance of the department's staff to accomplishing them.Prepares and conducts probationary and annual employee evaluations that accurately reflect the employee's performance during the evaluation period. Provides the employees with a summary of their strengths, areas for improvement and developmental plan for the future.Utilizes technology to analysis and develop statistical measures of Marketing and Community Relations performance metrics, reports, and programs.Ensures the continuous survey readiness of any and all regulatory agencies, including Joint Commission, or other governmental agencies.Perform other related job duties as assigned.
