Review of applications will begin a week after posting and continue until position is filled.Job SummaryOversees the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, migration, and inventory of Library Technology equipment and software. Manages the support queue and equipment reservations. Provides support for all Library Technology endeavors .Primary Duties and Responsibilities+ Installs, sets up, maintains, troubleshoots, migrates, and repairs multi-platform hardware and software; documents, tracks, and resolves complex computing problems; responds to service calls and provides onsite maintenance for computer hardware; installs new equipment; performs preventative maintenance; resolves common desktop, printer, and network problems. Participates in the Disaster Recovery planning process as it relates to networking and data. Continually works on knowledge base for employee use. Reports issues to the Digital Lab Manager or the Head of Library Technology.+ Manages the support queue and equipment reservations and facilitates the timely resolution of issues. Follows up and/or updates supervisor and customer with status and information about work order. Records events and problems and their resolutions in work order logs in order to suggest possible improvements on procedures. Shares feedback or suggestions from customers with supervisors and the appropriate internal team(s).+ Assists with the maintenance of inventory for desktop support assets, including computers, peripherals, software, and printers. Assists in the establishment and maintenance of desktop hardware and software, including planning, acquisition and delivery of desktop services and equipment; develops and oversees procedures related to maintenance and upgrades of hardware and software; and drafts and reviews technical and procedural documentation.+ Maintains and/or increases technical knowledge through coursework, workshops, seminars, readings and cross training with other team members. Supports University Libraries’ digital initiatives: Supports the Mississippi Digital Library and Aquila Digital Community with technical assistance, digitization assistance, publicity and outreach; and participates in Research Data Management efforts by uploading and digitally preserving research data produced by the university researchers. Digitizes materials as needed for grants and collaborated projects. Completes other tasks and duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsAssociate's degree in a technical field of study or one to two years of technical support or library technology experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities+ Excellent verbal and written communication and people skills.+ Ability to maintain high customer satisfaction.+ Ability to perform effectively in stressful situations.+ Proven ability to perform detailed tasks with a high degree of accuracy.+ Ability to accurately and quickly troubleshoot technical issues.+ Must possess a strong work ethic and be a self-starter able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience troubleshooting technical issues and equipment.
