Overview :

As an Industrial Designer in the consumer goods industry, you will play a crucial role in conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative and aesthetically appealing products. You will play a lead role in the design process ensuring that the final products meet market demands, consumer preferences, and business objectives. Your expertise in industrial design, user-centered design principles, and manufacturing processes will be key to delivering successful and competitive consumer goods.

Key Responsibilities:Lead the product design lifecycle, from ideation/concepts through protoyping & tooling sample approvals through the development of product, ensuring that all design milestones and deliverables are met.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers & factory representative, to define product requirements, understand user needs, and align design solutions with business objectives.Conduct thorough research on market trends, user preferences, and competitor products to identify opportunities and design innovative, market-leading consumer goods.Create 2D & 3D sketches, high quality renderings, and an ability to review 3D CAD to effectively to communicate design intent translating effectively to the final product.Apply user-centered design principles to develop intuitive and user-friendly product experiences, considering usability, ergonomics, and accessibility.Develop detailed technical specifications and manufacturing guidelines to ensure the design intent is accurately translated into the final product.Collaborate with engineers to address technical challenges, evaluate feasibility, and optimize designs for manufacturing, assembly, and cost-effectiveness.Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design methodologies, and integrate them into the design process to enhance innovation and competitiveness.Collaborate with external design agencies, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to ensure design integrity and quality throughout the production process.Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.Proven experience as an industrial designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful consumer goods products.Expertise in design tools such as Adobe creative Suite, Sketckbook-Pro, CAD software (Rhino, Solid works, Fusion 360) and other design softwareIn-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies relevant to consumer goods production.Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.Proficiency in sketching, reviewing 3D, rendering, and prototyping techniques.Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, human factors, and ergonomics.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively and critically with exceptional attention to detail.Effective communication and presentation skills to articulate design concepts and influence stakeholders.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Education & Experience:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.4+ years of industrial design experienceHelmet, goggle or eyewear design experience highly regarded
