We are seeking a talented and motivated Industrial Product Designer to join our dynamic team in Oklahoma City.

As an Industrial Product Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing products that meet aesthetic and functional requirements within the consumer hardware industry. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure the final product aligns with the company's goals and objectives. Your role will involve utilizing your creativity, technical skills, and market knowledge to create innovative and competitive products.

Responsibilities:

Conceptualization and Design: Generate innovative ideas and concepts for new industrial products based on market research, user needs, and technological trends. Develop sketches, renderings, and prototypes to visualize design concepts and communicate ideas effectively.Product Development: Translate design concepts into detailed product specifications, considering factors such as materials, manufacturing processes, cost, and feasibility. Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source materials, components, and technologies that meet design requirements and quality standards.Prototyping and Testing: Create physical prototypes or digital models to validate design concepts and evaluate usability and functionality. Conduct user testing and gather feedback to improve product designs throughout the development process iteratively.Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Marketing, Creative Services, Engineering, and Manufacturing, to coordinate product development activities and ensure alignment with project timelines and objectives. Communicate design ideas, specifications, and progress updates effectively to stakeholders.Design Optimization: Continuously optimize product designs based on feedback, performance data, and market insights to enhance usability, durability, and user experience. Explore opportunities for innovation and differentiation to maintain a competitive edge in the market.Documentation and Compliance: Create comprehensive design documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and design rationale, to support the product development process. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and intellectual property guidelines.Trend Analysis and Innovation: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in Industrial Product Design or related roles, preferably in the consumer goods or home improvement industry.Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor.Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.Must possess a high degree of creative, innovative, and out-of-the-box thinking.Familiarity and comfort with DIY and home improvement projects.Demonstrated ability to take a product from concept to production, focusing on innovation, quality, and cost-effectiveness.Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach to tackling technical challenges.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.Detail-oriented mindset committed to delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.Ability to manage/oversee multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.Familiarity with product development methodologies such as Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) is a plus.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to consumer products (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS) is desirable.
