What We Do

About the Team:

The Product Design & Research (PDR) team is internal to Sequoia and supports the organization through user experience (UX) design and research. We employ a variety of research methodologies to capture user behaviors, needs, and pain points. Afterwards, we utilize those findings to build user-centered solutions.

About the Role:

As a Lead UX Researcher, you will utilize a variety of research methodologies to understand our users, both internal and external to the organization. During data collection, you will bring our partners "along for the ride" to improve buy-in. You will also serve as the organization's evangelist for the user, educator of best UX practices, and research subject matter expert. Additionally, you will act as a leader on the team, assisting with research education, strategy, and training.

Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or Human-Factors, or related field (e.g. Business & Market Research; Cognitive Science; Educational Technology; Informatics; Library Sciences; Social Sciences)7+ years of experience in an applied or product research settingExpert at conducting generative (i.e., discovery) and evaluative (i.e., testing) researchExpert at transforming research data into a story with actionable insightsHighly proficient at collaborating with a diverse group of partners, including, but limited to: Design, Engineering, Operations, and ProductAbility to work autonomously and independently on projects, with little-to-no oversightPositive attitude, with an interest in mentoring others for professional developmentAbility to act as a leader on the team, assisting with research education, strategy, and training

Pay Range: $160,000 - $174,000 annually

This hiring range is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range of possible compensation at the time of the posting, and is subject to change. The actual compensation offered will be determined by various factors, which may include a candidate's education, training, experience, and geographic location.
