A Designer is accountable for producing high quality project design deliverables in both material and construction documents. They are able to work on any and all phases of a project including Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Construction Administration by assisting in and independently facilitating a project's completion on-time, on or under budget, and with high standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Technical & Construction Documents:

Knows CAD standards and applies themMock-up elevations from drawings, with accuracyThorough and accurate reading of red-linesNotes revisions on drawings and specificationsCan produce door & window schedulesAble to produce floor plans and layouts skillfullyCan read a set of plans and understand details expertlyHas the ability to site-measure with little to no assistanceAble to sketch something quickly in order to show ideas and conceptsAble to input sketches into Vectorworks, draft elevations, manipulate floor plans, dimension, annotate, create schedules, tag finishes, create electrical plans, finish plans, paint plans, and update title blocksAble to update and complete final selections and bids in Builder TrendMaterial Specification Requirements:

Source materials and specifications based on client feedbackCan interpret what is needed by carefully listening and understanding client expectationsSave images and spec sheets to Google Docs and BuilderTrendContact vendors, order samples, get lead times, collect & document pricingOrganize all aspects of the specification process - answering questions, sending emails, selecting materials, etc.Research and sourcing - cataloging vendors and resourcesComplete project close-out details, documentation, storage of recordsPrep for Contract signingKnow how to produce material palettes according to Woodcliff standardsKnows how to source products and understands their uses and pricing tiersSelects appropriate products that capture the look and feel, as well as the durability and pricing that meet the client's vision and budgetShows good eye for color and materialsLooks for fresh ideas rather than suggesting pieces that just "work"Demonstrate comfort at exploring new ideas in designDemonstrate a good eye for scale and balance, color and material relationships in both architecture and FF&EPersonal Traits & Professionalism:
