Description

As a

Mechanical Designer , you will be responsible for designing unique spacecraft structures, systems, and components, while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team that produces high-performance spacecraft from clean sheet designs.

ResponsibilitiesCreate conceptual designs in CAD based on high level requirementsRefine designs based on input from analysts, manufacturing, and engineeringDetail work including joints, fasteners, seals, interfaces, structural elements, features for tooling and fixturing, and lightweightingManage mass properties in CADProduce engineering drawings that effectively convey specifications for manufacturingCollaborate with manufacturing group to produce designsMinimum Qualifications

Bachelors' degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering or related field5+ years of demonstrated design experience2+ years CAD experienceAbility to work with and manage large assembliesDemonstrated packaging and configuration management experience on complex hardware productsWorking knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Familiarity with properties of common materials, both metallic and compositeDemonstrated experience working collaboratively across different teamsAbility to communicate technical challenges, explain rationale and/or resolve concernsPreferred Skills and Experience

Experience with NX/TeamcenterDemonstrated hands-on experience with machining, fabrication, or composite manufacturing experienceExperience in a startup or agile development environment

Additional Information:

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the

form of stock options , and access to

medical, vision & dental coverage

as well as

access to a 401(k) retirement plan .
