Position Overview:
They are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Designer with expertise in laying out large refinery equipment to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design and engineering, with specific experience in the layout and arrangement of equipment such as distillation columns, reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, and vessels within refinery facilities. As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a critical role in optimizing the spatial arrangement of equipment to ensure efficient operation, ease of maintenance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Develop detailed layout drawings and plans for large refinery equipment and systems.Collaborate with process engineers, piping designers, and other stakeholders to optimize equipment arrangement and ensure efficient workflow.Conduct site visits and field surveys to gather relevant information and assess site constraints.Work closely with equipment vendors and suppliers to integrate equipment specifications and requirements into the layout design.Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in equipment layout and design.Perform 3D modeling and visualization of equipment layouts using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).Generate equipment location drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and other design deliverables.Participate in design reviews and coordination meetings with clients, project teams, and regulatory agencies.Provide technical support and guidance to junior designers and drafters as required.Maintain organized project documentation and records.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Minimum 5+ years of experience in mechanical designProficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.Strong understanding of refinery processes and equipment, including reaction and separation systems.Knowledge of industry standards and codes relevant to refinery equipment design and layout (API, ASME, etc.).Familiarity with 3D modeling and visualization toolsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Prior experience in refinery projects or related industries is highly desirable.Benefits:
