salary: $20 - $25 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 5 PMeducation: High School
Responsibilities
Receive requests: Receive requests for prior authorizations through the electronic health record (EHR), phone, or faxVerify insurance: Verify the patient's insurance coverage and benefits, and confirm procedure coverageSubmit records: Submit medical records to insurance carriers and clinical information to third party payersCommunicate: Manage correspondence with insurance companies, physicians, specialists, and patientsTrack progress: Track the status of prior authorization requests from initial submission through final insurance determinationDocument: Document account activity using correct medical and billing codesFollow up: Follow up on missing or incorrect informationAppeal: Appeal insurance companies after prior authorization refusals
