The heart of what we strive to accomplish in our practice of architecture is creating meaningful spaces that profoundly impact people's lives.POSITION DESCRIPTIONAn Interior Design Professional supports project teams and senior design professionals in the planning and execution of design projects using a wide range of developing professional skills. Performs basic design and technical tasks requiring application of standard techniques and knowledge while working under general supervision. Eager to learn, highly organized and willing to contribute creatively to the team.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESRevises drawings, presentations and renderings as assigned under direction of lead designerAssists with preparing implementation document sets (i.e., interior plans, fixture plans, elevations, details)Organizes files, materials and displaysAssists in developing and managing furniture and interior fittings packagesMay complete site surveys, field verification and test fit plansAssists with the development of interiors concepts based on client vision, desire, project scope and architectural conceptUtilizes creative thinking to achieve innovative solutionsConducts research (i.e., conceptual, site, client, materials) for the project teamMay communicate with and coordinate with vendors and product manufacturers representatives during finish sample procurement and selectionMay participate in communication with other disciplines, consultants and contractors to incorporate all information into project requirementsMay assist with review of RFIs and submittals during the Construction Administration PhaseMay participate in product presentations to maintain knowledge of industry drivers, products and materials available on the marketParticipates in and contributes to in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues and coordination with other disciplinesFosters awareness of the importance of growing and maintaining client relationships and the basic concept of business developmentMay assist in production of marketing presentationsREQUIREMENTSEducation: Interior Design Degree from accredited program, NCIDQ certifiedSoftware: Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, InDesign, Bluebeam Revu and 3D modeling softwareEXPERIENCE & SKILLS3-5 years of experienceAccredited professional degree in Interior DesignSustainable design accreditation preferredKnowledge of software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, InDesign and 3D modeling softwareProficiency in MS Office Suite preferredStrong creative and conceptual thinking abilities.Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writingAbility to problem solve and collaborate on innovative solutionsWhy You Want to Work with UsChilders Architect is passionate about the work we do and the people entrusted to do the work.
