Your expertise, drive and passion can help us carry out our mission to improve lives and advance healthcare.Join our team of leaders to begin a rewarding career!POSITION SUMMARY:The Grants Writer is responsible for supporting in the writing and submission of LOIs, proposals, and reports. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Grants Writer works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the overall strategy for grant proposals to foundations, government entities, and organizations. The Grants Writer persuasively communicates On Lok's mission and program to establish community partnerships and engage potential and current funders. Additionally, the Grants Writer helps conduct research and manage relationships with foundation officers.DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:GRANT PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT & SUBMISSIONS•Supports Grants Manager in maintaining the grants calendar and portfolio of current grant funding.•Supports Grants Manager with grant submissions, including assembling and submitting grant requests, letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations.•Collaborates closely with Grants Manager to implement the overall grants strategy and schedule.•Solicits foundations and applies for government contracts in support of On Lok's mission.•Communicates the organization's mission and programs to potential funders.•Tracks potential opportunities as well as current grant deliverables and renewals.•Supports Finance in developing budgets for proposals and reports.DATA MAINTENANCE & REPORTS•Works with Finance and program staff to prepare reports for funders, Boards and leadership.•Works with the Donor Database Specialist to capture and maintain accurate data.•Creates, runs, and analyzes metrics and reports as needed.RESEARCH•Researches new funding opportunities.•Researches relevant issues and trends for proposal development.COMMUNICATIONS•Ensures prompt acknowledgement of foundation and other institutional gifts.•Supports Development team in writing copy for communications materials including donation appeals and other materials, as needed.QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, abilities):Certification in grant writing from: Grant makers coursework (Dorothy A. The pay range is expressed as an hourly rate regardless of FLSA status.
