Background and Job Description:

We're looking for an innovative, driven Proposal Writer with demonstrated experience drafting winning proposal responses to federal solicitations in the social marketing (behavioral sciences) and strategic communications fields. Specifically, you must be able understand Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements, gather the necessary information and develop critical content under tight deadlines.

As a key member of our business development team, you will work closely with senior agency leadership to "translate" strategy and our teams' recommendations into compelling written proposals that demonstrate our agency's value. You're a strong fit for this role if you are an excellent narrative writer with and a strategic, detail-oriented mind who will enjoy bringing the CMRignite mission and philosophy to life through the proposal writing experience.

This associate-level, full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) position is a hybrid role and will require occasional work outside of normal business hours.

What you will do:

Develop an understanding of company philosophy, capabilities and experienceParticipate in proposal kickoff meetings and team strategy sessions to inform proposal contentHold meetings to gather recommendations from individual functional leads (e.g. digital marketing, creative, paid media, partnerships, etc.) and use that information and information obtained during strategy sessions to draft content for RFP responses, including technical sections, management and staffing sections, and past performance volumesEnsure proposal responses are written to meet or exceed all RFP requirements and reflect winning strategies and themesProofread and edit proposal text for style, consistency, proper grammar, spelling and consistencyEnsure adherence to standards and templates to present a consistent appearance/style across all proposal responsesManage and prioritize multiple proposal assignments to meet strict submittal deadlinesParticipate in color team reviewsAssist in developing proposal response library to address recurring content inquiries and develop tailored RFP responsesOrganize material and complete all writing assignments on timeDocument and maintain a library of approved proposal contentWhat you will bring:

A minimum of 5 years of experience writing federal government proposals or grants, in the behavioral science and strategic communications fields

Experience writing proposals in pursuit of large Cabinet-level federal departments and agencies, ideally the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Labor, Department of Energy, Department of Education, etc.

Bachelor's degree in English, marketing, communications, journalism or related fieldDemonstrated knowledge of the social marketing or strategic communications fieldsSkills organizing and translating information into clear written narrativesAbility to research, interpret and analyze RFP requirements and write solutionsStrong editorial and proofreading skillsAbility to manage competing priorities under tight deadlinesAbility to work well in a team environmentExceptional proficiency with productivity applications, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, and collaborative platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, etc.)Experience in virtual meeting coordination, protocol, and etiquette, using Teams, Zoom, etc.General knowledge of federal government contract types (IDIQ, FFP, T&M, CPFF) is a plus
