Drive the event experience in line with overall brand strategies, goals and customer need while managing the marketing budgets to set objectives. Main responsibilities include:Responsible for developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet agreed company and event objectivesEvaluate customer behaviors, feedback and other relevant qualitative and quantitative data to implement marketing plan alterations as neededDevelop audience acquisition and engagement strategyLead day-to-day marketing efforts in strategy and execution with marketing team while partnering with internal and external support teams and vendorsOversees all brand marketing staff and related vendor relationshipsIf the answer is yes, we'd love to hear from you!How you'll make an impact:LeadershipCreate a culture of communication among team members and through clear communication of ideas, processes and goalsLead by example and takes full responsibility for ideas, actions and problem solvingEnsure the team has all necessary tools to effectively perform the jobIdentifies training needs for the team and carrying out training as requiredBrandDevelopment and implementation of a year-round Brand strategyOversee the development and delivery of a fully integrated marketing strategyDevelop an annual strategic marketing plan in conjunction with other key departments. This should detail the year’s brand and marketing objectives and agreed upon goals for exhibitors/sponsors and attendees, universe sizes and goals, customer insight and messagingWork directly with conference and events team to create content messaging strategy that is in line with the overall brand strategyMarketingOversee implementation and delivery or results of the marketing strategy - including campaigns, conference, events, digital marketing, advertising, and PRWork closely with leadership team to define marketing needs and programsResponsible for marketing budget, working closely with event leadership to develop, maintain and report onGuide the day-to-day activities of the marketing team, ensuring the marketing manager and coordinators understands and delivers on event goals, strategy, and customer needWork closely with marketing manager to ensure marketing team well equipped with tools, knowledge and bandwidth to execute on day-to-day marketing plansEnsure that the marketing objectives are set and achieved by the marketing teamWork with the marketing manager and marketing teams to manage the social media presence and direct programs to improve conversions of new customers, drive customer experience, recognition, and event goalsWork with the operations team to ensure the onsite representation of the event is in line with the marketing and brand strategyUndertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer/customer trendsWork directly internal team and with PR agency (where applicable) to create PR campaign strategy to achieve frequent, timely and positive media coverage across all available mediaAnalyze marketing plan results and effectiveness, customer insights and industry data to make recommendations to improve performance and delivery of resultsRelationshipsIdentify, create and manage both internal and external relationships critical to business objectives and meet company core valuesDemonstrate the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employeesMentor, provide leadership to your marketing manager and coordinatorsBuild trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on delivery to customers, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrityProactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all departmentsDemonstrate technical marketing skills and company product knowledgeGeneral ManagementManage the marketing team day to daySet clear goals and objectives for all reporting staffSet, monitor and evaluate performance targetsAssess, develop and coach all reporting staff and complete staff appraisals as necessaryBe aware of employment procedures, disciplinary actions and employment law issuesEnsure that training and development needs for all are metDevelop an understanding of the company’s objectives and goals for the future and your part / your team’s part in achieving themIdentify and maintain key customer group and partner careResolve attendee needs both pre-show and on siteWork on site during the build-up and open period of the showMotivate the teamAttend training courses as agreed with your line managerRepresent your event brand and Clarion Events in a professional manner at all timesThe skills & experience you'll need:5+ years marketing experienceStrong leadership skills to develop and motivate strong marketing teams, collaborate across multiple centralized groups while delivering on strategic goals.You’re curious, resourceful, a self-starter, a creative problem solver, an organized project manager and a team player, motivated to reach event and customer goalsExperience working with and planning for marketing automation software is a plusStrong organizational and reporting skillsFearless written and oral communicatorExperience with conferences, events and/or trade shows a bonusExperience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, TeamsWhat’s in it for me?Competitive Base SalaryBonus based on challenging but achievable targets100% remote position (or hybrid if near CT or OK offices)Generous PTO & Company-paid Holidays: this includes a day off for your birthday every year, and our employees will receive the entire week of July 4th AND the entire last week of the year off.A full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, voluntary life insurance, HSA (plus employer contrition), and FSA.Basic life, long-term disability & short-term disability are covered at 100%.401(k) Plan with employer match.Opportunity to travel across the country to attend our shows and meet people from a multitude of different industries.Who is Clarion?Clarion Events North America, which is the US division of Clarion Events UK, and backed by The Blackstone Group has become one of the fastest-growing event companies in the United States, with aggressive growth through both acquisition and launch.
