Description

Strategic Responsibility:

The Director, Corporate Communications stewards all communication and public relation matters of David C Cook from a Corporate perspective for the entire Ministry and will contribute to David C Cook (Publishing) and Integrity Music (Music Recording and Publishing) organizational strategic planning process as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. This position will develop and execute communication plans, directly overseeing communications activities that promote, enhance, and protect the ministry's brand. This leader will manage a team of outside services and internal public relations professionals that will carry out a vision for communicating the strategy and positioning of the ministry and its leadership to internal and external audiences.

Job Description:

Work with CEO, CMO and other senior leaders to align the ministry's vision and mission with a comprehensive communication strategy.

Leads the communications function. Develops communications plans to foster the organization's desired image and messages to stakeholders, external parties, and internal staff.

Oversees a team and outside agencies, as appropriate, that create and execute strategies for dissemination of product messaging internally and externally.

Ensures that messages and channels of communication are clear, thorough, on-brand, seek to preserve the company's image and are appropriate to the audience being targeted.

Directs the work of David C Cook and Integrity Music public relations employees and reviews messaging from outside services of public relations agencies in these areas.

Evaluates public and media response and adjusts strategy as needed.

Prepares Executive Leadership Team for media, community, and donor events. Handles high-profile or high-risk issues.

Obtains and allocates resources to achieve strategic and operating goals.

Builds and enhances high level internal and external relationships.

Oversite of donor communications, all communications with the donors, build and execute donor communication plans, management of donor database.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Formal Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Journalism, communications, or related field.

Experience: 5-7 years of experience in a senior management role with the area of communications, either in-house or with an agency2 years of experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team of communications specialists. 3+ years of experience in planning, writing, editing and production of communiqué, such as newsletters, press releases, annual reports and other print publications and directories Experience working for non-profit and or mission-based organizations with multiple locations or global reach would benefit this role.

SpecializedKnowledge/Certification: Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing strategic communications, media relations and brand programs to advance an organization's mission and goals. Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output. Creative and thoughtful on how new media and communications technologies can be utilized. Successful writing and editing experience (internally and externally focused). Advanced persuasive communicator. Ability to thrive in and enjoy a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented.
