MSH is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Communications Officer supporting communication activities for the USAID MTaPS program, country portfolios and Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA). The Communications Officer will manage social media and newsletters, and develop and execute campaigns and events. This role coordinates admin support for the MTaPS Communications team including tracking and coordinating requests, and collaborates with the MSH Communications team and relevant MTaPS departments such as Knowledge Management (KM) and technical teams.This position is funded until March 2025

Specific DutiesSocial media management and newsletterImplement social media plans in coordination with MTaPS and external partners and MSH Communications team.Maintain editorial calendar and coordinate graphics and design requestsProvide support to MTaPS staff members to build social media skills with cheat sheets (refine existing ones), one-on-one support and small group sessions as neededManage newsletter process - developing draft, review process and publishingDeveloping content and editingHelp coordinate, develop and edit news articles, blogs and success stories, and other communications products with a focus on Asia and E. Africa portfoliosHelp disseminate news articles and stories to missions through Asia and E. Africa country teams, Friday Focus, and other channelsWeb content managementUpload news articles and stories, develop web content to feature new products and upcoming events/webinarsProvide backup to uploading reports, tools and other materials when neededObtain analytics and reports on a regular basisEvents and strategic communications supportLiaise and guide Asia and E. Africa teams on communications in sync with and support from Senior Communications ManagerSupport online webinars and in-person events including coordinating pre and post communication related tasks such as invitations, promotion and social media coverageMessage campaignsDevelop graphics and content to promote Pharmaceutical Systems Strengthening (PSS), international days and weeks, such as UHC Day, Antimicrobial Resistance Week, and special events and MTaPS productsQUALIFICATIONSRequired Minimum Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in public health, international development, communications or related field. Graduate degree preferred.Six

( 6) years strategic communications experience, with strong focus on social media. Experience with supporting project implementation in countries.4-6 years communications experience in a global health setting is preferred.Knowledge and SkillsStrong knowledge of global health issues.Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills in English.Effective use of social media, graphics and materials to promote global health projects required.Experience of working with USAID and non-profit will be a plus.Experience managing online/virtual communications platforms.Strong computer skills - expertise in social media, experience with web content management, knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and presentations (Microsoft Office applications preferred); and a willingness to learn new software packages.Team player with resourcefulness and the ability to work independently.Demonstrated experience working in/with low and middle-income countries preferred.Experience with project administration.Strong administrative and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in a complex and fast-paced environment.Demonstrated competence to assess priorities and manage a variety of activities in a time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality.Professional proficiency, written and oral, in French, Spanish or other relevant languages preferred.CompetenciesOrganizational, research, and analytical skills.Attention to detail.Ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.Ability to develop and implement communications strategies.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to work and interact with country-based, home office-based project staff, senior leadership, project partners' representatives, and donor staff.Adaptability, problem solving, creativity and innovationEye on quality and timeliness of workThe expected salary range for this position is: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 annually (U.S. locations only).MSH considers multiple job-related factors when determining an offer, including but not limited to, business and organizational needs, candidate qualifications, internal equity, location, and internal budget.
