This role is instrumental in the development and implementation of comprehensive organizational strategies, change management initiatives, and communication plans for key projects.

This management role necessitates frequent interaction with campus departmental leaders, operational leaders in Supply Chain Management and other stakeholders, fostering effective relationships, and enhancing the university's supply chain practices in line with strategic goals. This position oversees the Strategic Initiative Portfolio of Supply Chain Management, assuming overall responsibility for Project Management, Communication Strategy, Change Management, and Customer Experience. In addition, this role involves cross-functional coordination with other units within UCSF's Finance & Administration, championing communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization. The Strategic Initiatives & Communications Manager plays a pivotal managerial role, supervising a team of communication and project analysts. The role demands the promotion of a work environment that encourages collaboration, efficiency, and continuous process improvement. It also involves managing consultant engagements and requires exceptional leadership and communication skills. Candidates for this role should possess a solid understanding of organizational development, effectiveness, and strategic planning. They are expected to manage professional-level staff and projects, assuming responsibility for the quality of work produced by the team. The Strategic Initiatives & Communications Manager plays a crucial role in setting and supporting organizational effectiveness goals. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals can result in additional costs, personnel, and significant delays in overall schedules.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
