Classification Summary

Incumbents assist in the planning, developing, and producing marketing materials for use in the online marketing efforts, oversee the College's website, and assist in executing the College's social media strategy. Responsibilities may include researching, drafting, proofreading, and editing written content for various online marketing channels; designing basic graphics to enhance marketing materials; assisting in the production of video content for social media and other digital platforms; helping track and analyze website, social media, and digital marketing campaign data to measure effectiveness; supporting the approval process for website content to ensure consistency and quality; and collaborating with team members and end-users to understand project requirements and deliver solutions.

Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience

Associate's degree in a related field and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and/or Training and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related field.

These are the job duties that are required of the position.

Classification DutiesAssist in developing and implementing a coordinated, dynamic institutional website presence while overseeing design and usability. Ensure website content is accurate and up-to-date. (B2)Serve as point of contact and final approval for website editors and department heads in approving content, overseeing site quality, and content style issues. (B2)Assist in executing the college's social media strategy, administering and contributing to social media channels as a leading voice. Develop strategies that drive online traffic to the website and social channels to increase engagement. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of various strategies and platforms to drive decision-making. (B2)Monitor social media channels for possible institutional brand and reputation issues and respond accordingly. Establish and oversee website and social media accounts for employees/departments. Promote the use of various social media platforms by college departments and employees; train staff, provide support, and monitor activities as necessary. (B2)Manage and run analytics reports to evaluate the effectiveness of online efforts and determine how best to invest institutional resources in future marketing and public relations efforts. (B2)Oversee and manage the campus announcement portal, reviewing and posting all messages to ensure that content is accurate and that announcements are published in a timely manner. (B2)Design and execute digital marketing efforts on various media channels, including those the college manages. (B2)Oversee the distribution of electronic newsletters and maintain an email database of subscribers. Manage third-party distribution services and provide analytical data as necessary. (B2)Work with marketing personnel to ensure brand, information, and content consistency between digital communications, publications, and videos, aligning with the institution's brand identity and messaging. (B2)Collaborate with Marketing department personnel to assist in the development and execution of creative and engaging marketing concepts encompassing enrollment efforts and other strategic institutional initiatives. Position Knowledge/Skills

KnowledgeKnowledge of responsive design principles and media queries to ensure websites work on different devices.Understanding of visual design principles such as layout, color theory, typography, and UX/UI design.Basic skills in graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Sketch.Understanding of basic search engine optimization (SEO) practices.Awareness of best practices for optimizing website performance (e.g., image optimization, minimizing CSS and JavaScript).Ability to troubleshoot and solve basic web design issues.Strong communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and team members.Skills
