First Descents (FD) is a nonprofit that provides life-changing outdoor adventures for young adults impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions. The Marketing & Events Coordinator is responsible for supporting FD's communications and marketing strategies, cause-marketing partners, media relations, and events. Specifically, the Marketing & Events Coordinator will manage FD's social campaigns and content creation. In addition, this team member will collaborate regularly with both the Programs team and Advancement team to develop clear and effective communications campaigns specific to inquiries, participants, alumni, and fundraising.

As a key point of contact within our community, it is imperative that the Marketing & Events Coordinator is passionate about our mission and demonstrates our commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) in the outdoor and healthcare spaces.

This is a hybrid position based in Denver, CO with the requirement to be in the office two days per week, and any additional time required to complete tasks in person. The Marketing & Events Coordinator will report to the Marketing & Events Manager.

Responsibilities:Support the Marketing & Communications team in overall content creation for all brand properties, including First Descents Programs, Out Living It, Prescribe Adventure, and Community AdventuresManage FD's social media channels by developing and curating engaging content for all platformsCollaborate with marketing team to build out a social media calendarHelp expand and grow FD's TikTok presenceSupport email marketing campaigns. We use Pardot but an understanding of any email marketing platform is helpful (Ex. Campaign Monitor or Mailchimp)Support graphic design and collateral developmentSupport general content generation and copywriting needsSupport the design and execution of FD's feature events, including the FD Ball and regional alumni and donor gatherings. Key responsibilities include attendee registration, event logistics, and vendor management.Manage online store orders and fulfillmentOther duties and projects as assignedDesired Skillset:

Exceptional organizational, detail management, and written & verbal communications skillsPassion for social media and a proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools. Proficiency with Sprout Social and Canva preferred or a willingness to learnExperience with the Adobe Creative Suite and designing using Photoshop and InDesign specifically or a willingness to learnSelf-motivated and eager to jump into projects (put another way, you're a problem solver!)You are energetic and enjoy engaging with staff, partners, and vendorsCommitted to advancing FD's JEDI goalsRepresentative of FD's Core Values & Code of ConductStrong passion for FD's mission and support for its long-term vision and goals

Inside Details:This is a full-time, non-exempt position based at our headquarters in Denver, CO. The position will be a hybrid of office/remote work with the expectation of being in the office two days per week, and any additional time required to complete tasks in person. There may be a few times throughout the year where you are asked to work nights or weekends.

The compensation range for this position is $20.70/hr to $24.15/hr.
