This position requires a passion for the social landscape and will work on the entirety of the Lucasfilm and Star Wars digital persona, including theatrical and streaming title lifecycle projects, Disney Experiences priorities, i.e. initiatives spanning both Consumer Products and Disney Parks, publishing support, major gaming efforts as well as synergy requests across The Walt Disney Company.

This position may require some non-traditional working hours (early morning/weekends), light travel and on-field level work at events, including premieres, screenings, junkets & conventions.

The Digital Content Marketing Strategist supports and reports to the Director, Social & Digital Marketing, working in conjunction with the full Lucasfilm Online team, on the support and execution of comprehensive digital, influencer, editorial and video content campaigns across the Lucasfilm & Star Wars brands.

Platform Management & Social Engagement

Support the execution of social and digital strategy and platform guidelines in partnership with Social Engagement Manager & LFL Online team

Act as lead copywriter for social, video and editorial support, leading efforts for voice guidelines and maintenance as needed

Manage select uploads and optimizations, making sure the pages are up-to-date with current Tentpole campaigns, Evergreen Brand, and Synergy/Partnership calendar beats across Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, GIPHY, YouTube and additional emerging platforms

Maintain a consistent drumbeat of community management and fan engagement across Star Wars and Lucasfilm platform pages

Proactively seek opportunities to further recognize and grow community engagement efforts from digital spaces to events, premieres and beyond

Provide input as it relates to messaging, engagement, and community preferences for social content. Additional emphasis on executing strategic content plans targeting all levels of fandom (Potential, Casual, Core)

Act as a key trendspotter – recommending content, partners, influencers and copy that reflect opportunities for Star Wars and Lucasfilm brands to engage with current audience behaviors

Project Management

Lead point of contact for project management additions, changes as it pertains to Social and Studio Title priority content updates

Help ensure priority projects are supported from idea to execution and community management

Act as intermediary between synergy partners across the enterprise (Gaming, Publishing, Disney Experiences, etc) and the Lucasfilm Online Social & Editorial teams and pushing forward necessary asks and requests

Audience Development & Analytics

Manage the day-to-day monitoring and moderation of all Star Wars & Lucasfilm social media channels utilizing third party partner for monitoring of conversation volume, sentiment, and trends

Manage closely with Social & Digital Marketing leadership to monitor community discussion and social health. Flag any important updates or concerning trends.

Support Publicity and Social for key crisis brand listening projects and ongoing moments throughout title lifecycles

Team Management

Manage documentation of incremental workload & resources needed to pre-empt any bandwidth concerns, providing real-time updates on impact to Director, Social & Digital Marketing

Frame and provide input into social and cross-team meetings, agendas, and provide strategic recommendations to drive growth and address complex situations

Basic Qualifications:

Knowledge and appreciation for the Star Wars and Lucasfilm brands

2+ years relevant film studio or digital marketing professional experience

Experience being trusted with a major brand (1M+ following)

Hands-on experience creating/executing successful multi-platform digital marketing/media campaigns

Working knowledge of professional task management software (AirTable, for example)

Strong working knowledge of social media, digital news, and mobile behaviors/opportunities

Passion for identifying trends and relevant opportunities within pop culture both anecdotally and with data-driving evidence

Demonstrated success in working cross-functionally within large-scale organizations

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Ability to provide clear, concise creative feedback and guidance across multiple stakeholders

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Creative copywriting experience and visual design skills a plus

Ability to be proactive and resourceful

Proficient in Outlook, Keynote, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Premiere, as well as popular content creation mobile apps (e.g. CapCut, InShot)

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional language skills desirable

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $77,100 to $103,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
