The San Francisco office of SmithGroup is looking for a Senior Interior Designer to join our team.

Working with us, you will:

Lead the next-generation holistic designs across a spectrum of project-types.Responsible for the big-picture design concepts that will guide project interior development.Lead the design efforts for all stages of a project, including leadership with the client, contractors, and internal team.Lead concepts, planning, and development of interior architectural design solutions.Lead client presentations, visioning sessions and user meetings.Manage projects, including negotiating and management of project scope, schedule and fees, job production and quality.Be responsible for interior team meeting project deadlines and budget constraints.Consult with manufacturers, research and evaluate FF&E, materials and products materials.Prepare, coordinate, and complete contract document packages.Lead construction administration including responding to RFI's, preparing sketches and addendums, and visiting the construction site to gather information and/or prepare a punch list.Oversee the design work of others to ensure integrated and cohesive design, supervise preparation of drawings for all project phases, and ensure guidelines, quality control, standards and details.Mentor junior staff and participate in performance coaching.Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process as requested.Will contribute and participate in an interdisciplinary team environment.The ideal candidate has:

A bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent.Minimum 12 years of related experience.Architectural or Interior Design registration required.LEED AP preferred.Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and AutoCAD programs.Experience in planning and designing public spaces.

SmithGroup's competitive compensation and benefit package is designed meet the needs of a diverse staff. The anticipated salary range for this position is124,000 to $155,000 annually, at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for this position. Additionally, an employee in this position is eligible for a performance-based bonus on an annual basis. Our comprehensive benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances. We offer 3 weeks of paid time off within the first year of employment, with the option of purchasing additional time off, 8 paid federal holidays, and parental leave benefits.
