Title: Technical IllustratorLocation: Wichita, KS

IllustratorCreate and revise maintenance documents (maintenance manuals, structural repair manuals, non-destructive testing manuals, tool & equipment manuals and component maintenance manuals) using engineering database information, engineering drawings, functional tests and other sources to provide customers with detailed aircraft continued airworthiness instructions.Create and revise Illustrations by researching and analyzing released engineering and supplier documentation (drawings, parts lists, etc.) for applicability and ensuring all data conforms to established design specifications.

Researching Technical Publications Change Requests (TPCRs) and Engineering Change Records (ECRs).Researching Engineering Drawings and Functional Test Documents.Creating and revising aircraft maintenance manual illustrations and graphics in accordance with Technical Publications aesthetic and technical standards.Technical Illustrators must be proficient in CATIA V5 or V6, Adobe CS products and 2D technical aesthetic standards.

Submit work packages to create illustrations that will accompany maintenance document instructions for use in technical publications.Conduct self and peer quality checks of completed work packages for accuracy and consistency.Follow established procedures and improve procedures as necessary.Collaborate with core teams, engineers and customer service representatives to validate maintenance document procedures.Degreed in an aviation related area preferred or equivalent experience authoring technical documents.A&P license or military aviation maintenance experience with Technical Orders a plus.Requires an understanding of engineering data, with an ability to research and analyze engineering drawings and technical documents.Mechanical aptitude with experience and knowledge of aircraft operation, aircraft systems, aircraft maintenance practices, manufacturing and GAMA/ATA guidelines.Experience using CATIA, CCD, SGML/XML, Arbortext, Adobe FrameMaker or equivalent tool in authoring environment.Professional and diplomatic demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
