Technical Illustrator

Purpose

Performs all technical illustrations. Updates and maintains assembly and spare parts manuals. Creates drawings and bills of material for spare parts book. Works with a variety of departments within company for research and documentation of spare parts books. Support entire publications staff and provide documentation to engineering, service, and spare parts.

Essential Job Functions:

Create “exploded” isometric view illustrations. Illustrate parts from actual piece parts, photographs and/or 3D CAD models. Update existing illustrations as needed.Integrate technical illustrations with spare parts lists, utilizing page layout software.Work with Production personal in creating assembly instructions/illustrationsCreate parts lists for technical illustrations.Break down components for serviceable items.Identify part numbers to individual components by creating new or using existing part numbers.Update and maintain existing parts lists as needed.Printing/Assembling manuals for new and existing equipmentCreate/Maintain spare parts book manuals for new and existing equipmentProvide technical documentation for Sales, Service and Engineering Departments.Requirements

Physical Demands:

Perform stationary work 85% of the time using a computer and applicable office equipmentMove about inside the office and production areas of the building 10% of the time to access files, office equipment and communicate with colleaguesEducation/Skills/Experience:

2-year technical degree, Drafting and/or Illustration.Minimum 2 years experience creating illustrations utilizing graphics softwareExperience creating axonometric/isometric drawings.Ability to assemble accurate parts list utilizing SAP database.Experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Solid Edge
