Overview of Position

The Senior Digital Designer will join the in-house full service Creative Team supporting both Medifast and OPTAVIA brands. While partnering with other designers and creatives this role will help lead and support the creation and implementation for digital assets. Following the guidance from creative management and brand marketing teams to help develop and execute creative requests for both public and field facing audiences.

From concept to execution, this position will be responsible for publishing e-commerce content in addition to static webpage URL’s to ensure user experience is not only on brand but compliant. Other digital assets may include email campaign graphics, html template layouts, social media assets but static and motion, mobile app graphics, product and wireframe needs. The ideal candidate should have experience in accessible design and development.

This role will be responsible for maintaining and building relationships with our digital marketing team members and/or external vendors to offer new and engaging ideas for both English and Spanish speaking audiences. They will troubleshoot current user experience concerns, run quality assurance on new publishes, all while ensuring best practices and brand experience are considered when working within third party CMS systems.

II. Job Responsibilities

Designs, develops and builds web pages utilizing HTML, CSS, Bootstrap and/or JS technologies with consideration for responsive, mobile-first frameworks. Continually enhancing, or replacing graphics on various web platforms and/or landing pages. Aligning with cross-functional partners for scheduled publishing as needed while determining scalable practices for our global expansion. Including translation and localization across digital platforms. Ability to work on print projects when required.Manages OPTAVIAEvents.com, while working closely with cross functional teams for new published content or updates. Monitors the accessibility levels, keeps the site operational with minimal downtime, while maintaining best practices for responsive design. May include creating information architecture, wireframes, and/or prototypes to provide clear brand direction and documentation for third party vendors when needed.Leads the design, management of graphic content for emails across all OPTAVIA field marketing initiatives. Supporting brand, communications and video teams for SOP creation and training. Works closely with Digital Marketing Team, Digital Product Squads, business analysts, IT Agile teams and vendors on various web projects as needed. Included in usability testing with QA Teams for any upcoming improvements, changes or updates to current field facing applications/platforms.Ongoing improvement for all OPTAVIA digital experiences. Keeps current with emerging web technologies though relevant events, blogs, subscriptions, and continuing education efforts. Provides suggestions on areas of improvement and offer suggestions for new technologies to explore.

IV. Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Web Design or Interactive Media, Marketing, related field or equivalent job experience.4-7 years working experience in graphic design, multimedia, UX/UI, web design or related field.Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript; jQuery and Bootstrap frameworks.Extensive knowledge of graphic and web design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and other print, digital and web related software.Strong knowledge of User Experience and Interface design.Experience working within various content management systems. Plus, knowledge of Email marketing best practice and platform is preferred, Exigo experience is a plus.Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (MS IE/Edge, Firefox, Safari, Chrome etc.) while testing website functionality with the BrowserStack.Mobile application design and video experience is a plus.Demonstrated ability to translate needs and provide technical guidance.Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).Ability to work independently with minimal direction.Extensive knowledge of current website design trends and techniques.Organized, detail orientated, dependable with a great attitude.Ability to work in a deadline driven team environment and work additional evening and/or weekend hours as needed.Willingness to travel as needed. (About 15% of time).Knowledge of designing for print and the print process
