We are looking for a Freelance Packaging Designer for a top fashion company in New York City. The Packaging Designer is responsible for assisting in the design of packaging and display concepts, within licensed & Private Label brand guidelines from concept through final approved "ready for press" files. Creative solutions must effectively communicate product attributes within brand guidelines and cost parameters. Problem solves obstacles or challenges to keep design work on track, including limited development time, construction, and cost engineering. This position will start immediately and will be fully on-site in their New York office.Salary: $75K-$90K (hourly equivalent, based on level of experience)Responsibilities:
Work with Packaging Team to conceptualize, develop and implement design strategies across print and digital communicationsCreate and execute packaging & display mechanicals ready for press (rfp)Partner with all packaging designers to drive efficiency in the design and production file release process (packaging tech pack)Product Photo retouching & create renderings as needed for packaging/displays and productMock up product displays for our retailers in advance of production in order to provide a visual representation of the final productRequired Qualifications:
Bachelors in related field packaging or communication design4-6 years of experience in packaging design, and POS displaysPortfolio that demonstrates packaging skillsStrong sense of design, typography and colorExperience with licensed branding and interoperating brand style guidesExpert level Adobe Creative Suite skills requiredStrong creativity, conceptualization, execution, organization and design skillsStrong knowledge of photography & photo re-touchingPLM experienceIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
