We are looking for a Temp to Perm Assistant/Associate Technical Designer Children's Apparel for a top fashion company in New York, New York. This will be a hybrid position.Salary: $65kResponsibilities:
Work closely with the Technical Design Manager to create accurate initial specs and determine proper fit and constructionParticipate in fit sessions, making appropriate recommendations for fit and construction issues.Advise fit sample comments to vendorsParticipate in style and fit approval process with cross-functional partners to meet all deadlines and address issues for resolution with technical designers and fashion designersCommunicate development and fit information to overseas vendors through written reports, sketches and/or pattern correctionsReview and comment on digital reports from overseas teamsAdhere to established fit, construction, and safety standards by producing accurate specification packages including sketch details, base size specifications, grading, and constructionRequired Qualifications:
Minimum 2+ yrs Technical Design experience; Children's experience preferredApparel related Associates or Bachelor's degree from a Fashion School preferredExperience working with overseas factories and vendorsProficient in Microsoft OfficeMust possess strong knowledge of garment construction, fit standards, understanding of patternmaking, and grade rulesMust be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressureMust possess good time management and organizational skillsMust possess the ability to follow through with task completionAbility to multi-taskSuperior organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skillsIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
