Responsibilities:This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate, creative and technical Lead Sound Designer to join our in-house Audio team and help create world-class content on a new and exciting open-world AAA game.

As the Lead Sound Designer, you will have the opportunity to fully lead and own all sound design for our exciting, new project. You will work with the Audio Director at a high level to shape the aural aesthetic of our game and ultimately be responsible for implementation of all sound design in-game, guiding and mentoring other sound designers both in-house and within our external partner teams, from concepting phases through final sound design, polish and mix.

Implement and author immersive, interactive, real-time audio content and systems using middleware and scripting tools to engage players, bring soundscapes to life, and enrich game narrative.Engage and collaborate with other departments and department leads to provide sound design support across the project.Author and integrate audio assets through middleware and in-engine (UE4/UE5).Manage a team of sound designers, providing guidance and feedback on audio standards, quality, consistency, and implementation.Assist Dialogue designer(s) as needed with VO implementation work.Record, create and edit new sound effects using various recording techniques, professional audio editing tools, plug-ins, hardware and props.Work closely with Audio engineers to design systems and methodologies with the goal to raise the bar in game audio.Work with the Audio Director to discuss high-level audio direction, and then execute and deliver on audio features and ensure defined aesthetic is met throughout production.Engage in the planning and execution of recording sessions in the field, studio and mocap stage, recording real-world sounds and foley.Supervise the sound design and mix of cinematic audio content to blend seamlessly with gameplay audio.Ability to be an expert individual contributor some days and a manager of internal team members and external vendors other days.Requirements:

Excellent sound design aesthetic with a keen ear for detail.5+ years of experience in AAA game audio.3+ years' experience leading a team.A minimum of one AAA title shipped as Lead Sound Designer or equivalent.High level of leadership, ownership and self-sufficiency.A desire to push game audio further with new ideas and methodologies.A strong grasp of logic and scripting methods for interactive audio implementation within a game engine.Imaginative and creative use of audio production tools, foley performance and capture, props, and recording techniques to create high-quality original content.Fluent in interactive audio and post production techniques.Expert command of sound design & mixing techniques, processes and tools.Ability to create world-class audio content spread across multiple styles and genres.Wwise middleware proficiency.Field and studio recording experience.Competency in Unreal Engine 4 or 5, Blueprint, and scripting.Proficiency in Nuendo or Reaper (Pro Tools as a secondary DAW)Experience/familiarity with industry standard plugins (Fab Filter, RX, Waves, Izotope, etc)Experience setting up routing and bus structures with multichannel environments such as 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos in WwiseDesirable Skills and Experiences

Experience designing sounds and sound systems for weapons, vehicles, physics, and weather.Experience working on environmental and spatial audio, sound propagation and 3D audio.Technical skills and understanding of audio rendering and compression technologies, and codecs.Experience with VO and localization pipelines.An understanding and appreciation of how dialogue, music and sound design gel together to result in a cohesive and immersive experience.A positive attitude and work ethic.

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $96,600 to $234,430 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
