What is a Production Designer Intern?

SMT’s Creative Studio is looking for a highly motivated Production Designer Intern based in our Jacksonville, FL office. The position is responsible for translating broadcast, large format, and other digital display designs into functional graphics packages. Duties include creatively using client’s art files and/or creating original art for use in off-the-shelf and proprietary SMT graphics platforms. Additional responsibilities include coordinating efforts between designers and operations staff to ensure delivery of graphical products that meet client requirements.

This is a hybrid position and subject to SMT remote work policies

. Pay for this position is from $15-$18 an hour.

What is Your Daily Impact at SMT?Knowledge of Adobe Suite products (including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign)Maintains and edits projects in a variety of graphics platforms which may include but is not limited to: Brainstorm eStudio, After Effects, and proprietary SMT platforms.Accurately and efficiently creates versions of graphics packages based on client brand guidelinesPrepare creative elements – images, videos, and 3D assets – from client, internal design files, or asset libraries to meet project specsUses design skills to produce uniform graphic templatesFollows file distribution and backup proceduresCreate project documentationCommunicates with Project Coordinator and Department Lead regarding the status of current projects, including any insights or pitfalls presentAccurately delivers and consistently meets deadlines for project handoffsKeeps up to date on the latest graphics technologyAvailable for live and on-call after-hours supportAvailable for minimal travel, domestic and international (5%)What Do You Bring to SMT?

Ability and willingness to take directionBachelor’s degree or in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in a Creative, Broadcast, or related fieldOther Preferred Qualities You Could Bring:

Experience with real time graphics systems such as Chyron, VizRT, Brainstorm and Ross.Knowledge of 2D and 3D Animation techniques and software (including but not limited to Unreal, Motion Design, Cinema4D, 3D Studio Max)Knowledge of DropBox and AirtableSports or Sports production knowledge is a plus but not requiredPossess an understanding of the live television graphics production cycleA proven record of working in a team environment
